Feller raps Tucak’s nonstop vacations

APR’s under fire coach Rene Feller has come out strongly to castigate national team coach Tucak Branko’s continued vacations abroad.

The Dutchman was reacting to the burden that club coaches have to endure trying to monitor these players  while the coach is away on his ‘constant’ holidays back in his homeland of Croatia.

Tucak has only returned recently from a long holiday after the second round of the 2010 World/African Cup qualifiers however, after watching only one game of the national league (Atraco vs Police), he again headed back to Croatia after attending the draws for the final qualifying rounds held in Zurich last week.

Tucak together with his boss, the Ferwafa president Brig. Gen John Bosco Kazura currently with the U-17 team in Germany represented Rwanda at the draws.

"The guy is ever away leaving us with the burden of monitoring his players,” Feller said of the Amavubi Stars coach.

”He should be around to monitor them. He doesn’t at all keep in touch with the clubs,” a seemingly infuriated Feller added. 

Feller joined APR on a one-year contract, just three months after being appointed national coach of Eritrea. According to a source in Ferwafa, Tucak is expected back in the country on November 4 to start preparing the team ahead of the start of the grueling qualifying campaign. 

National team players need a rest

The veteran APR coach, himself under mounting pressure for his team’s league position (third- four points behind leaders Atraco), fears his players could face burn-out due to a demanding football season schedule.

Speaking to Times Sport recently, Feller expressed concern particularly to players who feature for both club and national team insisting that the grilling number of games they have played in this period could leave them burnt-out.

With the national football league raging on and many more games for the 2010 World/African Cup qualifiers, Cecafa Cup,U-17 and U-20  lined up, Feller is deeply concerned about  several of his players.

"Haruna (Niyonzima) and Migi (Jean Baptist Mugiraneza) have played for two years without a break for both the national team and club. They need to rest,” Feller stressed.

Others in the pack include goalkeeper Jean-Claude Ndoli, striker Elias Uzamukunda, defenders Elias Ntaganda, Mbuyu Twite, Jean Bosco Uwacu JMV Rukundo and midfielder Hegman Ngoma, and new signing Jean Claude Iranzi.

Last season, APR players were all-over the place after taking part in the national league, Amahoro cup, Lotto cup, Cecafa senior challenge cup, Kagame Cup, CHAN championship, U-17 qualifiers, Caf African champions’ league and 2010 World/African Cup qualifiers.
