RE: "Why does it take forever to get a debit card?” (The New Times, March 2, 2016)

I wanted to use my ATM card yesterday. I went to the ATM to get some cash and to my surprise my BK visa card was rejected.

I moved on to try other visa-compliant ATMs; most of them rejected my card.

As I continued to run around looking for any cash dispenser that functions, one of them, I came to learn from another one belonging to another bank that actually, my card had expired.

Imagine my own bank can’t notify me that my ATM is about to expire or is expired.

After knowing that my card was expired, I crossed to their open branch and I applied for a new one of which I was informed that I will be getting it in one month. Something needs to be done about this.

I think given the direction in which this country is heading, such issues should not be arising at all.
