Today (Wednesday)

Kiyovu        4-3   Gicumbi

Bugesera   1-0   Mukura

Espoir        2-1   Sunrise

Former Rwanda international striker, André Lomami, netted three goals to help Kiyovu overcome Gicumbi FC 4-3, in a league match on Wednesday at Mumena stadium. This hard fought victory by the Nyamirambo-based takes them to 6th place.

Congolese-born Mukamba Namusombwa scored the opening goal for the hosts two minutes into the game before veteran striker Lomami doubled the lead in the 5th minutes. However it was a short-lived lead as Jemba Kalume pulled one back in the 9th minute before Eugene Habyarimana converted from the spot to level the scores in the 14th minute. The first half ended 2-2

Coming into the second-half, Gicumbi looked the better side, pressing Kiyovu's defence and creating multiple goal opportunities but they were too wasteful.

Eight minutes into the second half, a defensive blunder gifted former APR forward, Lomami, with his second goal of the evening. Antoine Dominique Ndayishimiye equalised in the 61st minute but Lomami scored the winner in the 65th minute to complete his hat-trick.

Elsewhere, table leaders Mukura were upset by struggling Bugesera FC 1-0 at Nyamata playground, suffering their first league defeat since last October while Alphonse Gatera's Espoir FC beat Sunrise 2-1 in Rusizi.

Mukura still top the table with 32 points, AS Kigali are second with 31 points, Rayon are third with 25 while APR sit fourth with 24 points. Police FC and Kiyovu rank 5th and 6th with 21 and 20 points respectively.
