Just after six months since he was elected as Rayon Sports football club second vice president in charge of club properties and assets management, Fred Muhirwa, has resigned, throwing the trouble-ridden club in further quagmire.

Muhirwa tendered in his resignation letter on Saturday, he cites lack of enough time to manage both his private business and the club duties.

The resignation letter written in Kinyarwanda, and directed towards the president of Rayon Sports Association Charles Ngarambe, Muhirwa said, "I thank you Mr. President for the opportunity and faith entrusted in me by Rayon Sports FC, club committee and fans.”

"(But) because of other tasks and lack of enough time, I hereby request you to accept my resignation, I thank you Mr. President for the period that we have been working together. I wish you and the club the best, God be with you,” reads part of the letter, seen by Times Sport.

Muhirwa has thrown won the towel amid rumours of lack of sufficient resources to run the club, a reason that is said to have led to the resignation of head coach Ivan Minnaert last week to join Kenya’s AFC Leopards.

Rayon Sports is currently third on the table with 25 points, seven behind table leaders Mukura Victory Sports but have a game in hard.
