Kirehe volleyball club head coach Pierre Marshal Kwizera believes his side is capable of challenging for top positions in the national league—Kirehe take on former champions KVC today at Club Rafiki in Nyamirambo.
Kirehe’s opening game against Rayon Sports last weekend was postponed to unknown date, but Kwizera is confident his new signings can help the team to challenge for a top three finish and a place on the playoffs. Kwizera announced his retirement from international duty last year.
"We prepared well for the league start although our first match was cancelled; nonetheless, we will do all we can to be among the top four teams. Last year, Kirehe finished in fourth position, so our aim is to improve this year,” said the former Rwanda international centre.
Kwizera, who is making his coaching debut, has signed Sylvestre Ndayisaba (setter) from KVC; left attacker Alfred ‘Rufu’ Mutabazi from St Joseph and left Barack Rugira from APR.
