Former Rwanda international striker Emmanuel ‘Crespo’ Sebanani is close to joining Sports Club Kiyovu on a one-year deal, according to head coach Yves Rwasamanzi.

"He has been training with us and hopefully he will sign soon because we need a striker, who can help to take the team forward, we are struggling to score goals in the league so we need to improve in that area in the second round,” Rwasamanzi said.

In a separate interview, Sebanani, who previously played for Mukura, APR and Police FC revealed that he has struggled with injuries, which forced him to stay out of action for over a year.

He said, "I am going to do all my best to help my team to win many games, but first I need to work hard to get back to full fitness and sharpness, and hope I will get the chance to play regularly.”

SC Kiyovu is in seventh position with 17 points after four wins, five draws and three losses in twelve games played so far.

Mukura  are on top of the table with 29 points, one ahead of second-placed AS Kigali, Rayon are third with 25 points and reigning champions APR stand in fourth place with 24 points. AS Muhanga and Etincelles are in relegation zone with three points and six points respectively.
