Police FC are confident that they will get a good result against Atlabara of South Sudan when the two sides meet in the return leg of the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round in Juba on Sunday. The Rwandan Peace Cup winners, who lead 3-1 from the first leg, played two weeks ago, touched base in Juba on Wednesday hoping to win and proceed to the first qualification round of Africa’s second biggest club competition.
Speaking to the local press before departure, team captain Innocent ‘Di Maria Habyarimana said they are going for a win against Atlabara.
"We are aware of the task that awaits us in Juba, but we are well prepared. We will do everything possible to win the game and I am convinced this team has the potential to win and advance to the next stage,” said the former AS Kigali midfielder.
In the first leg, Andre Cassa Mbungo’s team scored their goals through striker Dany Usengimana, central defender Fabrice Twagizimana and striker Isaie Songa while Atlabara’s away goal was scored by Khamis Leon Uso.
The match will be officiated by Kenyan referee Andrew Juma Otieno, who will be assisted by compatriots Gilbert Cheruiyot and Tony Kidiya.
