Former Amavubi striker Bokota Labama, who signed for national league strugglers AS Muhanga, has said he still has the eye for the net to keep his new club in the top flight division.

Bokota signed a one-year deal with AS Muhanga, but won’t make his debut until the second half of the season because he’s still waiting for the release letter from SC Kiyovu, which is believed to be his most recent previous club.

"I am still the one you know, I will score goals if I start to play in the next round. You have to wait and see, I am waiting for the release letter and hopefully you will b able to see the real Bokota,” former Amavubi forward said after his new side played out a goalless draw against Rayon Sports on Tuesday.

He added, "I believe we can get out of relegation zone, but to do that we have to start winning matches so that we can earn points which will help us to move up the table. I am here to score goals and I will do that.”

AS Muhanga have not managed to win a single game after eleven rounds of matches, and Eduard Rutayisire’s side is on bottom of the 16-team table standing with three points from three draws.

In his long career, Bokota, played for AS Vita Club, Rayon Sports, APR FC, FC Les Stars, DC Motema Pembe and SC Kiyovu. He scored nine goals for Amavubi in 20 appearances.

Meanwhile, after the goalless draw with league title contenders, Rayon Sports, AS Muhanga head coach Rutayisire, said that his side is starting to put their act together and should start registering a few wins as they battle to avoid immediate return to the second division.

"We need to start winning some games if we are to get out of the relegation zone. We have not started the season well because we had little time to prepare (for life in the first division). We are trying to catch up,” he acknowledged.

Another veteran player that Rutayisire hopes to add to his squad is former Rwanda international full-back Bonaventure ‘Gangi’ Hategakimana, who has been playing for Etincelles. Etincelles is second from bottom with six points.
