Rwanda Energy Group (REG) women's basketball team has successfully acquired the services of another Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) star player in Tiffany Mitchell on a short-term deal which will see her play for the club at the forthcoming 2023 FIBA Africa Women's Basketball Africa League (AWBL) due in Cairo, Egypt, from December 11-19.
Mitchell, 29, is a versatile combo guard who currently plays for the Minnesota Lynx of the WNBA. She also featured for Galatasaray in the Euro Cup and in the Turkish Basketball League.

A source from the club confirmed to Times Sport that the player will arrive in Rwanda on Saturday, December 2.
Mitchell’s acquisition follows REG's recent signing of Nia Clouden, a dynamic point guard from the Los Angeles Sparks also from the WNBA.
The duo’s addition comes at a time REG continues to reinforce its roster before the continental showpiece gets underway in December, bringing together various top teams in Africa.

Mitchell's basketball journey began at the collegiate level with the South Carolina Gamecocks, where she garnered recognition as a two-time SEC Player of the Year.
