An international friendly football match between Rwanda’s U-20 team and their Ugandan counterparts have been penciled in as the team prepares for the African Youth Championship that is due in Kigali January 18th -Feb 1st ,2009.

The U-20 that is currently undergoing intensive preparations ahead of the championship will play Uganda Hippos on November 12th in Kigali.

In a quick reply to the local football governing body, Ferwafa, Fufa’s acting chief executive office former Uganda Cranes’ skipper Edgar Waston accepted the invitation that their Rwanda counterparts extended to them on Friday morning.

Other countries including Tunisia, Tanzania, Kenya, Sudan and Libya hadn’t replied to Ferwafa’s requests for friendly games by press time.

The youthful national squad managed by Croatian coach Tomislav Obradovic has enjoyed a string of wins against a number of national league clubs as part of its build up to next year’s tournament.

The team’s most notable performance was the 3-1 victory against Kiyovu. According to the local football governing body, Ferwafa, there are plans of lining up international build-up games for the youngsters this month.
