Thousand Hills will be out to maintain their perfect league start when they meet reigning champions Remera Buffaloes in the national rugby league on Saturday at the Utexrwa ground.

Thousand Hills have lost their last four previous encounters against the Buffaloes since the club was founded in 2014, however, the Gatenga-based team will be out to change that, according to assistant coach, Serge Shema.

"The previous times we’ve met Buffaloes, we have had a weak pack, but we have made reinforcements this season and the boys have gained experience ever since joining the league,” said Shema.

Remera Buffaloes’ new head coach Moise Fils Habumugisha, boosted by his team’s 62-0 drabbing of Kigali Sharks last weekend, will be aiming for a bonus point. Thousand Hills have 9 points from two games, four points ahead of the Buffaloes, who have played a game less.

In the Southern Province league, new league entrants, Resilience RFC will be aiming to prove that their 32-6 home win over Muhanga was no fluke when they play away to Kamonyi on Saturday.

Team captain Donatien Ufitimfura said the club have been working on some weak points from the previous game.

"We had poor rucks and our defensive kicking was poor too, we gave away possession and offsides. We have worked on that and if we keep focus we can get a win. If we can beat Muhanga we can beat Pumas,” he warned.

Resilience have 5 points and Kamonyi have 4, both from defeating Muhanga.
