Nigerian hip-hop/soul singer Nneka Lucia Egbuna, who’s in Kigali to headline the annual art and music festival dubbed ‘Isaano Arts Festival’, has promised a ‘Nigerian–Kigalian' performance.
"The show will be great, elegant and awesome; music and art lovers should expect a ‘Nigerian-Kigalian’ performance. I know I’ve been here some years back, but I hope this weekend’s event will be greater than the last one,” she said.
Speaking to The New Times, Egbuna said that she’s so pleased to be back in Rwanda to stage a musical performance.
"My last performance in Rwanda was three years ago. It wasn’t that big but I liked the fact that I featured with local artistes, and interacted with many people in the music industry. We experienced sound system issues, but again it was quite good. However, I wish to make this the best than ever,” she said.
The 36 music star says she’d also love to collaborate with local talents, as long as they express interest.
"Making collaboration with me? Yes, why not! If you got the interest, you like me and I like you, then we are good,” she added
Egbuna who does a mixture of various genres including classic, reggae, hard rock, and jazz, among a few, also advised that artists should try to work harder to make their music more unique to be able to compete on international scene.
She is expected to be joined by Ivorian national, Aly Keita, who will be the main act on Saturday at the arts festival that runs from February 12-19 at Petit Stade in Remera.
