It will be a fun packed weekend as music lovers throng Petit Stade for a live music festival- the ‘Isaano Arts Festival.’
Ivorian jazz star Aly Keita, and Nigerian hip-hop/soul singer Nneka Lucia Egbuna, are among a string of artistes set to perform at the 2016 festival taking place on Friday and Saturday at Petit Stade in Remera.
Nnekawill be the headliner of the opening day on Friday before Keita headlines the Saturday event. The festival will also feature regional artistes like Uganda’s Joel Sebunjo, Burundian afro-beat singer Big Farious, and Zambian afro-fusion, jazz and blues singer, Yvonne Mwale.
Also set to perform are local talents such as Nirere Chanel, Riderman, Active, Spoken Word performer Eric 1Key, Charly & Nina, traditional dance troupes Ibihame and Intayoberana, Comedy Knights, and Oxymoron, among others.
Isaano Arts Festival is an annual music festival that seeks to celebrate and amplify African music from across the continent. The festival, now in its fourth edition, has grown to become one of the largest and most attended music festivals in the country.
The festival will provide a platform for people in the creative industry to showcase their talents, mostly dance, fashion, music, poetry, drama and visual arts, among others.
In addition to the performances, revelers will enjoy food, drinks, and will have a chance to buy beautiful African art pieces.
According to Raoul Rugamba, one of the festival coordinators, music lovers should expect something great, because several international music stars are lined up to perform.
All performances will start at 7pm. Isaano Arts festival 2016is organized by Isaano and Positive Production, in partnership with Institut Français du Rwanda.
