Bank of Kigali has appointed Dr Diane Karusisi as the new Chief Executive Officer replacing Dr James Gatera who has served in this position since 2007.
Bank of Kigali has appointed Dr Diane Karusisi as the new Chief Executive Officer replacing Dr James Gatera who has served in this position since 2007.
According to a statement signed by Marc Holtzman, the chairman board of governors of Bank of Kigali and Dr Shivone Byamukama the company secretary, Gatera’s resignation takes effect from the time when the Central Bank approves a new chief executive.
The statement adds that Gatera has accepted a new position that will be announced in the nearest future.
Dr Karusisi joins the bank after serving on several boards including financial Institutions and comes with extensive experience in managing private and public sector institutions.
She has been working in the Office of the President where she headed the Strategy and Policy Unit and prior to that, she was Director General of the National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda (NISR).
Gatera, who has been with BK since 2007, was at the helm when the bank, in 2011 staked 45 per cent of its shares on the stock market, raising $62.1 million during the Initial Public Offer.
