Rayon Sports FC have signed Malian international, Ismaila Diarra on a six-month contract. The striker arrived in Kigali on Sunday night.
The development was confirmed by Olivier Gakwaya, Rayon Sports secretary general, on Monday.
Coming from Morocco's Shabab Atlas Khenifra Club, the deal will see the 24-year-old forward stay at the Nyanza-based club until end of the ongoing 2015/2016 national league season, and the contract is renewable according to officials.
"Diarra arrived in the country on Sunday night and was introduced at the club on Monday; he signed a six months contract, and will be with us till end of the ongoing 2015/16 season. He is a complete striker, we believe he will play a pivotal role on our frontline," Gakwaya told this paper on Monday.
"He was scouted by head coach Ivan Minneart, he is starting training with rest of the team on Tuesday," he added.
Former Azam FC (Tanzania) attacker Diarra was not part of the Malian side that lost the final at the just concluded 4th African Nations Championship.
Prior to joining Shabab Atlas Khenifra Club in Morocco, the talented forward was playing for the reigning CECAFA Kagame Cup reigning champions Azam FC of Tanzania. Before Azam, he was earlier playing for Malian giants of Olympique Club de Bamako, his parent club.
