Streetfootballworld in collaboration with Confederation of African Football (CAF) and Association des Jeunes Sportifs de Kigali (Esperance) will organise the ‘Unleash African Football’ festival on February 6, at Kimisagara Football for Hope Centre in Kigali.

Streetfootballworld is a non-profit organisation based in Germany, which, in Rwanda, works with Association des Jeunes Sportifs de Kigali to promote their goals.

In 2014, CAF and street foot ball world signed a Memorandum of Understanding to effectively contribute to positive social change in Africa.

The event, which takes place a day before the final of the 2016 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) in Rwanda, marks a historic gathering of the African football community.

The occasion will bring together professional players and grassroots talents and fans, all connected around the shared belief that football can be used as a force for social good in the world.

Speaking to Times Sport, the Chief Executive Officer of Esperance, Victor Emmanuel Sewabana revealed that the event will attract several high ranking streetfootballworld representatives from South Africa, CAF officials and African football legends, Roger Milla and Kalusha Bwalya.

The ‘Unleash African Football’ festival will present a number of engaging activities that showcase how football can be used for social good. These include; a ‘football3’ game involving children from the community and professional players.

Football3 is an educational approach to football that promotes values of fair play, teamwork and respect.
