HUYE – African football legend, Cameroonian Roger Milla has heaped praise on the ongoing African Nations Championship saying the standards and level of football had gone up since the last edition hosted by South Africa in 2014.
Speaking to Supersport.com at Huye, the Legend spoke highly of the organisers describing Rwanda as having done an exemplary job to organise the tournament as he praised the infrastructure as the group stages came to an end.
"I am really delighted at the level of organisation and the high standards of football at CHAN 2016 as they have improved tremendously since the last edition in 2014.
Teams have been in high spirits and we have seen beautiful football being played with urgency making the tournament more interesting and unpredictable”
"The level of attendance has also been very encouraging as most matches have seen fully packed stadiums and that is why football becomes even better and more enjoyable” Milla told supersport.com
On who he thought would win the competition, Milla was lost for words as he said with the level of competition seen in the 2016 tournament it would be difficult to predict the winner
