RE: "Academics urged on demand-driven research” (The New Times, January 27).

I suggest that every student submitting their research proposal should draft a concept note explaining how the research will be carried out and how the findings will be used to benefit the nation. The abstract is not really enough.

Shout out to the National Science and Technology Commission for pointing this out. I will volunteer my time to enforce your call when given the opportunity. I hope a policy and a strategy get drafted soon.
