A Turkish business delegation is expected in the country next week to explore investment opportunities, as well as strengthen trade relations between Rwanda and Turkey. 

A statement from the organisers indicates that the delegation, under the Turkish Exporters Assembly, also seeks to establish partnerships with their Rwandan counterparts. They will be in the country between February 2-5.

The investors represent 25 companies dealing in construction and real estate, machinery and accessories, cement, glass, and ceramics, mining, furniture, agro processing automotive, textile, transport and logistics, among others.

The group will hold business-to-business meetings with their Rwandan counterparts, and also draw a roadmap on how to foster trade ties between the two countries, the statement added.

The bilateral business trip is organised by the Turkish Exporters Assembly, the Turkish Embassy in Rwanda, and the local Private Sector Federation (PSF).

"The bilateral business meeting presents local firms an opportunity to forge invaluable ties with Turkish companies,” Antoine Manzi, the director for operations at PSF, said.

The Rwanda Development Board (RDB) has registered $400 million worth of investments from Turkey in the past three years.
