According to the statement, ‘Umukoro’ which translates to an ‘assignment’ in English, holds a special meaning for Icenova and Dr. Nganji, and also adds depth and significance to the project.
For Icenova, the real meaning of Umukoro seems to evoke a sense of work, responsibility, and a connection to his early years at the Green Ferry Music studio.

On the other hand, for Dr. Nganji, the album seems to symbolize a task that creative individuals should undertake and also reflects a commitment to pushing their creative boundaries and striving to achieve their full potential.
"This perspective emphasizes the idea that Umukoro is not just about creating music but about a continuous journey of self-improvement and exploration as creatives,” the producer added.
According to the two artistes, the decision to release a collaborative album with both of their names on it is a great way to showcase the equal contribution of both artists and to celebrate their partnership.
Dr. Nganji is credited to be the pioneer of a subgenre of trap music called "Kinyatrap", a local variation of Trap Music, in which local artistes rap in Kinyarwanda over trap melodies.
Some of his past light works include Bushali's debut album ‘Nyiramubande’ and "After Doze", an album that he produced in 2019.
