Thousand Hills started off their league campaign with a hard fought win over Kigali Sharks at the Utexrwa ground, Gacuriro on Sunday.

In a game marred by rain, Thousand Hills used their superior team cohesion to over-come a well-drilled but inexperienced Kigali Sharks. Winger Jacques Bigirimana scored the only try of the game for Thousand Hills that was converted by kicker Carlos Simbi who also added a penalty.

In the southern league, Kamonyi Pumas bagged four points against hosts Muhanga after a hard fought narrow win at a rain soaked Kabgayi ground, Muhanga.

Puma scored one unconverted try and two penalties which were enough to give an extra point to see off Muhanga which managed two tries, but missed the conversions.

Next weekend 9 time league winners, Remera Buffaloes will clash with Mumena-based Lion de Fer in the Kigali Central league, while in the south, University of Rwanda Grizzlies are unlikely to play their league against Rusizi’s Resilience due to holidays.
