The ongoing ‘Hobe Africa Festival’ continues this week with different activities organised to give revelers a host of activities to enjoy alongside the African Nations Championship (CHAN) tournament that is currently taking place in Rwanda.

According to Raoul Rugamba, the Director of HOBE Agency, the festival continued yesterday with an acoustic night by a group of talented artistes, ‘Auxymoron’, who put up an energetic live performance at Hotel Des Mille Collines by Kempinski. Tonight, which has been dubbed ‘Prime Wednesday’, one of Rwanda’s best disc spinners; DJ Karim will be entertaining music lovers at ‘Peoples Club’ in Kacyiru from 10pm.

"This week we have set another schedule of how people will continue enjoying Rwanda’s rich culture, as well as the diversity of the entertainment scene. As part of the on-going activities, people are already enjoying the number of events which were set up at different venues in Kigali and beyond,” he said.

On Friday, Rwandan traditional troupe ‘Ibihame’ will showcase Rwanda’s rich culture at the ‘Car Free Zone’. The event will also feature live music from Nyundo music students.

On Saturday, ‘Game Sessions and Music by DJ Miller’ will be going down at the same place, Car free zone beginning at 6pm. Various games like table tennis, pool table, among others, will be played by those interested.

Finally, on Sunday, revelers will be hosted to the first ever ‘Pan African Art Celebration’ evening of music and poetry.

"On Sunday, we’ll be celebrating all African diversity through music and poetry. Specifically, we will also be celebrating heroes’ day. We call on people to turn up in big numbers so that they can see what Africa has to offer,” Rugamba noted. No entrance fee is being charged for any of the scheduled events.

Hobe Africa festival is coordinated by Hobe Agency in partnership with the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) and the Ministry of Culture and Sports to showcase Rwanda’s sense of hospitality and pride as host of CHAN competition. Every week, concerts, live DJs, and other entertainment in Kigali, Rubavu and Huye are organized to give visitors an opportunity to meet Rwandans around exciting activities and to showcase Rwanda’s vibrant talent. The Festival ends on February 7.
