Rwanda national football league side SC Kiyovu have relieved Innocent Seninga of head coach duties, the club announced on Wednesday.

The Nyamirambo-based club wrote to the former Isonga FC technician a letter indicating to him that he was free to leave with immediate effect, Seninga revealed to Times Sport on Thursday.

According to the letter handed to him on Wednesday, Kiyovu alleges that Seninga left the club for three months without permission, but the latter refutes the allegation.

"All allegations presented to me in the letter are false, I left for coaching training in Switzerland with permission and I can prove that. For the case of poor performance of the club, I left the club after three league games with one win and two draws which I believe was not bad at all,” Seninga explained.

He added that, "When I returned, I took over again and helped the club finish third in the Start Times Christmas Cup after we beat Rayon Sports.”

Kiyovu secretary general Elie Manirarora said, "He (Seninga) was relieved of his duties because he failed managing the club and maintaining players’ discipline as was required in his contract, going abroad for training is not the reason. His commitment to work was terribly low.”

Seninga, was appointed on August 18, 2015 to replace Nigerian Samuel Amamba, who was in charge for only two weeks before he was dismissed after the club found out that he had used forged papers to get the job.

Former Kiyovu and Amavubi striker Hamisi Bagumaho takes over as interim coach until a new permanent coach will be named.
