Celebrated ‘former’ gospel artiste, Patrick Nyamitari, has released a new single, Impundu i Rwanda.

In the song, Nyamitari talks about Rwanda’s achievements in various sectors over the years.

"This song narrates the Rwandan story. It’s basically about the achievements our country has made through various programmes in different sectors. I was quite impressed and inspired by many activities taking place,” he noted.

Nyamitari emerged as one of the best Rwandan artistes following his famous singles such as Ur’Imana, Niwe Messiya, Nyirakidederi and Uri Uwera among others.

The Tusker Project Fame season 6 participant who started singing in 2007 also had something for those who claim he quit the gospel music industry.

"To be honest, I didn’t stop composing gospel music, I still do. Many people think it is bad working on gospel music along with other genres of music, but it’s a misconception. Music is something that is diverse, all I wanted is to expand my career and do more than what I was doing,” he said.

"There’s a lot I have for my fans this year, I have been busy working on songs and putting together everything. 2016 is the year for my new albums,” Nyamitari explained.

The video clip for this new single-’Impundu I Rwanda’ will be out soon.
