Members of the embattled Rwandan Music forum Kundumuzikinyarwanda on Thursday met to resolve the money scam that rocked the first ever local musicians’ body in Rwanda and to forge a way forward.

The meeting that was presided over by Kim Kizito and Ntambara Fiston, who has been forum’s treasurer, concluded with the expulsion of those responsible for the scam.

The president and vice president were discharged of their duties.

The scam unfolded after the executive committee organised a concert that took place in August this year at Petit Stade in Kigali which attracted over 5,000 people, each paying Frw2,000 for a ticket.

After the concert, it was alleged that the body’s president Alex Muyoboke and vice president Lucie Aline Kabatesi disappeared with the money.

The pair was seen two days later with less than a quarter of the money calculated to have been raised at the concert.

The provisional committee for that particular meeting together with the members agreed that four Kundumuzikinyarwanda members be elected to work with a lawyer to design laws and statutes guiding the music forum.
