Seats were abandoned as Redemption Voice, a Burundian gospel band, treated gospel music fans to an action packed concert at Christian Life Assembly (CLA), Nyarutarama last Sunday.
Celebrating their second album launch dubbed Ni Wewe Gusa, the band; which is composed of six males and one female thrilled the big number of people who turned up.
The live concert kicked-off at 6pm, with a two-session performance which saw the band sing some of their powerful hit songs like Uri Mwiza, Nicyo Naremewe, and Guma Kw’isezerano among others.
"We are so happy that the event kicked off in style and people attended in big numbers, which is great support that we can only thank God for. We’ve always been promising our fans in Rwanda, that we’ll someday hold such a powerful concert, and we are so pleased that we finally made it today,” Eric Mugisha, the band leader said amidst cheers.
The show also featured one of Rwanda’s most popular gospel artistes, Patient Bizimana, who put up an energetic performance with his worship and praise songs.
Redemption Voice was established in 2009, and it is made up of Eloge Irambona, Eric Mugisha, Floriane Favie Kaneza, Arnaud Zacharie Nzeyimana, Hervé Patrick Nininahazwe, Hervé Mbungabunga and Raoul Sabugaga.
The band has made a name for itself having already scooped awards including the Burundi Groove Award for Best Artiste of the Year 2013 and Best Artiste of the Year in Central Africa, during the Africa Gospel Music Awards 2013.
