National Volley Ball league reigning champions Kibungo University of Technology, Agriculture and Education (INATEK) have completed the signing of Uganda international Daudi Okello on a-one year deal.

The former Kampala Amateurs Volley Club (KAVC) right player joined the Ngoma district-based club last week on a free transfer, according to head coach Dominique Ntawangundi.

The 21-year-old Okello was part of Uganda team that participated in last year’s Zone V volleyball championship that was staged in Kigali.

He has been a target of a number of local and foreign clubs after his impressive performance in last years’ Africa Volleyball Club Championships in Sousse, Tunisia as well as the regional Post primary inter-schools games (FEASSA) held in Rwanda.

"He is a great addition to our club given his experience and his ability to jump high and block with accuracy,” said Ntawangundi.

Okello, who completed his secondary level education last year at St. Mary’s Kitende in Uganda. Meanwhile, former starlet John Gasongo Nkurunziza has rejoined the league side Lycee de Nyanza, while the club is also in talks with St. Joseph Kabgayi concerning the availability of Alfred Muvunyi and Patrick Rudakubana.

The club began pre-season training two weeks ago ahead of the league start which is scheduled to kick-off next month, although the exact date is yet to be announced by the Rwanda Volleyball Federation.
