The search for the next Miss Rwanda continued over the weekend in Kayonza as five girls got passes to represent the Eastern Province in the contest.
The auditions at Silent Hill Hotel attracted 15 girls, but only 11were retained before judges zeroed in on the best five.
Marie d'Amour Uwase Rangira, Gaelle Gisubizo, Ariane Uwimana, Akiri Delylah and Nikita Kaneza got passes.
Before judge Carine Rusaro Utamuliza announced the winners, colleagues Mike Karangwa and Jean de Chantal Mugabushaka offered the girls some tips on fashion and how to build self confidence.
"During auditions you face a small audience. It’s time to overcome your nervousness to be ready to face a bigger audience,” said Mugabushaka.
She also cautioned those who earned passes against complacence, as more is expected of them.
On Saturday, the auditions were held in Huye for the Southern Province and four girls were selected.
Cynthia Umutoniwabo and Doreen Umuhoza Karake proved that a second try at the audition was worth it, after having failed at other previous auditions.
They were joined by Nasra Bitariho , and Edwige Isimbi an elder sister to Natasha Irebe , Miss High School 2105.
The next stage of auditions will be Kigali next weekend.
