While officially opening the premises on Friday, the Minister for Finance and Economic Planning, Claver Gatete, urged leaders to foster delivering better services to citizens for improved welfare.
The building, whose construction activities started in 2014, also has a guest house and a conference hall.
"The new premises are another step to facilitate delivery of better services to the people which is in line with 2050 Vision that government is dedicated to,” he said.
Jacques Rutsinga, the Mayor of Kamonyi, said the relocation is according to a ministerial order that the district office must be situated in Gacurabwenge Sector which is in the centre of the district, adding that this will improve accessibility.
He said most of residents spent a lot on transport fares as they went to previous offices in Rukoma Sector for in services.
The district has 12 sectors with more than 340,000 residents.
Residents welcomed the new office saying that it will boost their business given the increase of people coming to seek services at the district.
Vianney Bahizi, a resident of Kayenzi Sector, a dealer in clothes and shoes said he would use the opportunity to expand his business.
