US-based Rwandan singer Darkecy will stage a free performance at Via Veneto restaurant in Kigali this evening.
Dubbed, COMB— City On My Back, the show is named after the cover for his latest album, Afr-I-Can—a tale of an African artiste who overcame international obstacles in his search for not just a place in the world of music but a voice in the world as a whole.
The 21-year-old, born Dennis Muganza Kayonga, is a student at State University of New York at Oneonta, pursuing a professional career in music.
"I wasn't going back to school without a performance. I want my fans to know what I've been up to these past 15 months,” Darkecy said, "Today is my last day in Kigali, so I request music lovers to join me at Via Veneto for a great night of Afro hip-hop and soul fusion music.”
The show starts at 4pm.
