Rwanda Defense Force (RDF) 5 Division football team will go head-to-head with Tanzania People's Defence Force (TPDF) 202 Brigade in a much-anticipated friendly match at Ngoma Stadium on Saturday.
According to RDF deputy spokesperson Lt Colonel Simon Kabera, the match was organized as part strengthening existing defense cooperation between the two countries through sports.

"Rwanda Defence Forces (RDF) and Tanzanian people&039;s Defence force (TPDF) have been enjoying various series of activities in defence cooperation," Kabera told Times Sport on Thursday.
"In the same vein, the friendly football match is to continue to enhance the existing relationship between RDF and TPDF, as well as building confidence between armed forces of both countries."
RDF’s 5 Division has the responsibility to maintain security in the Eastern Province, which is bordering Tanzania, while TPDF’s 202 Brigade maintains security on the side of Tanzania.
Kabera describes the match as a sign of strengthening the existing cross-border cooperation between the two forces, "which serves to enhance security along the common borders."
Entrance for the match is free of charge.
