Indomitable Lions jet in ahead of Amavubi friendly

The Cameroon national team arrived in Kigali on Sunday night ahead of Wednesday’s international friendly match against Rwanda at Umuganda Stadium in Rubavu District.

The Cameroonnational team arrived in Kigali on Sunday night ahead of Wednesday’s international friendly match against Rwanda at Umuganda Stadium in Rubavu District.

Head coach Martin Felix Ndtoungou Mpile, told the reporters upon arrival in Rwanda that the warm-up match against CHAN 2016 hosts, Rwanda, will be a good test for the ‘Indomitable Lions.’  The Africa Nation’s Championship finals tournament will run from January 16 to February 7.

After Wednesday’s friendly, Rwanda will face DR Congo on January 10 in another friendly which will also be staged at Umuganda Stadium.

"We have prepared well for CHAN.  We played some matches with local teams, and we tried to look for the best players in the country. We believe that we are in position of doing better against any team,” said Ndtoungou Mpile.

He added that, "We are playing against Rwanda and we will travel to Uganda for another match and I believe we will be in good condition for CHAN.”

The Indomitable Lions composed of 26 players and 9 officials arrived on Sunday night before traveling to Rubavu on Monday morning.

The Cameroon side will be staying in Gorilla Hotel Rubavu and is expected to train on Monday and Tuesday afternoon at the venue of the match.
