East African Community should boost trade

Dear editor,

East Africa should first think of a better way to trade within the region. The different countries in the community have different merchandise to trade; they can therefore streamline the trade amongst themselves before they move further to invite other countries.

There shouldn’t be any trade barriers among member states in order to attract many scared traders to the region. Let me hope that the Kampala meeting had this idea on its agenda and addressed it adequately.
