Uganda will play fellow 2016 African Nations Championship qualifiers Cameroon and Gabon in two preparatory friendlies ahead of the tournament in Rwanda.
The two West African teams will camp in Uganda prior to heading to Rwanda for the CHAN tournament.
The Cranes will face Gabon on January 10 and Cameroon three days later. Both matches will be held at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru.
The CHAN tournament in Rwanda runs from January 16 to February 7. FUFA spokesman Ahmed Hussein confirmed the two friendly matches. "We confirm the latest development which will be beneficial to the Uganda Cranes as we prepare for the CHAN finals,” he said.
"The training camp for Uganda Cranes will be held at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru. The international friendlies are in line with FUFA’s strategic and technical plans for the Cameroon Project 2019.”
On the two friendlies, Uganda coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic said: "It is a great opportunity for me and the Uganda Cranes to play against good teams ahead of the CHAN finals. They will give us a good test,” explained the Serbian.
The Cranes will play Zimbabwe, Zambia and Mali in Group D at the tournament.
Micho will name the team ahead of CHAN on December, 30.
