A provincial assembly for the Rwanda Patriotic Front (RPF–Inkotanyi) has commended Northern Province residents for the big turnout in the referendum poll which was held last Friday.

The RPF provincial chairperson, Aime Bosenibamwe, said this on Saturday during RPF general assembly for party members in the province, held in Nkotsi Sector in Musanze District.

Bosenibamwe, who is also the provincial governor, hailed RPF members and Northern Province residents for their effort in  mobilising voters.

Each district in the province registered at least 96 per cent turnout in last Friday’s constitutional referendum.

He further called upon RPF members and area residents in general to do the same in the upcoming elections for grassroots leaders, urging them to vote only for those that will promote socio-economic development.

Members were also urged to abide by principles which govern the party and promote moral values interests of the entire community rather than focusing on what benefit them as individuals.
