Worship music maestro Aline Gahongayire has launched a charity initiative for women, dubbed Ineza.
This was during a fairly attended concert at Serena Hotel in Kigali on Saturday.
The concert, that was initially set to start at 6p.m but delayed for about an hour and a half, featured splendid performances from Gahongayire; Janvier Kayitana, who performed his Groove award winning song ‘Jehovah’; Phanny Wibabara; Canadia-based Rwandan singer Ezra Kwizera; and Kambua, a Kenyan gospel artiste.
The audience became ecstatic when the elegant Gahongayire stormed the stage in a yellow dress at about 8:50p.m with her popular song ‘Yesu Aranyuze’, which got most of the revelers on their feet.
She then sang her other tracks like ‘Hari impamvu pe’ and ‘Peke’ before she introduced Racheal, a female rapper with whom they did the collabo ‘I Love The Way You Love Me.’
The concert was graced by Miss Rwanda Doriane Kundwa, MP Eduoard Bamporiki and cultural music singer IntoreMasamba.
A host of artistes, including Patient Bizimana, Aime Uwimana, Diana Kamugisha, Eddie Mico and Lillian Kabaganza, were also in attendance.
According to Gahongayire, who spoke about her life’s challenges, the proceeds from the event will go towards supporting needy women in different parts of the country under the auspices of her newly launched Ineza initiative.
The event ended at 11:30pm.
