'Fuel a dream' concert unveils young talents

A blend of upcoming and experienced singers, dance groups and fashion agencies converged at Sports View Hotel, Remera on Thursday for the inauguration of ‘Fuel a Dream’-an annual charity event.

A blend of upcoming and experienced singers, dance groups and fashion agencies converged at Sports View Hotel, Remera on Thursday for the inauguration of ‘Fuel a Dream’—an annual charity event.

The show kicked off at 4pm, with poetry and inspirational sessions from different personalities, including Jabo Elyse (poet), Ernestine- a member of Girl Up, Michaella Ngonga- an engineer, who shared inspirational stories with the youth. Byusa Isabella, the founder of Idea for Africa, delivered a motivational speech that inspired the audience.

Reigning Miss Rwanda, Doriane Kundwa, treated revellers to her modeling skills through catwalk routines. The event showcased creations by different local fashion agencies, such as Kaza Fashion, YCEG and Fashion Killers, among others.

Upcoming artistes, Joel and Andy, Flammix, Concretz band, 4Sign Loyal and Nikita Heaven delivered great performances and left the crowd that was mainly composed of students from different secondary schools on their feet. The dance crews such as Phantomz, Afro Kasa, Sick City, T-Layers, Sons of Beat, Bad Trip, and Young Masterz kept the revellers at the hotel’s conference hall in a jovial mood. Burundian dance crew Booty Shakers, delivered excellent dance routines.

The show was organised by Girl Up Rwanda in partnership with Young Achievers, with the aim to raise funds that will be used to create an all new youth-led scholarship fund for children from rural areas who do not have access to good education.
