Dear editor,

I enjoy helping the needy and the deprived, but I do not envy aid workers in the troubled Somalia. Recently, an engineer working for the UN in Somalia died in the latest of a series of assassination-style killings of aid workers.

This is the order of the day - death. I would rather go to serve in other countries where my services would meet the needy without necessarily endangering my life.

In any case, I would be more useful if I lived longer to serve the unfortunate people in troubled environments of the world.

I am so sorry for the aid workers and their families, but pray for them and praise their work and determination to take some succor to the suffering, ordinary people of the region.
