Rwanda parliament football team will face the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) in the semi-finals of the ongoing East Africa inter-parliamentary Games today at Kigali Regional Stadium.
The second semi-final will pit the Ugandan parliament against their Kenyan counterparts at the same venue. The 6th edition of the EAC Inter-Parliamentary Games Tournament started last Friday.
In the preliminaries, Rwanda drew against Kenya 0-0 while Uganda was beaten by EALA 2-0 in the other match. Tanzania and Burundi are not participating in this year’s edition.
On Saturday, Uganda Parliament women volleyball team beat EALA 2-0 (25-18 and 25-16) while Rwanda Parliament beat Kenya 2-0 (25-20 and 25-16).
Uganda Parliament Netball team defeated EALA 41-7; Parliament of Kenya beat their Rwandan counterparts 17-10.
Meanwhile, Rwanda parliament men’s volleyball will face their Kenyan counterparts in the final on Thursday.
Rwanda beat EALA team in the semi-finals 25-20 and 25-16 to book the final place while Kenya defeated Uganda 25-8 and 25-11. The matches were played on Monday at Amahoro Indoor stadium.
"We are happy to reach the final but we are going to face a strong team (Kenya), we will try to minimize our mistakes so we can win the title,” President of the Senate, Honorable Bernard Makuza told Times Sport.
Uganda will face East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA) in the third place playoff, also on Thursday.
