National basketball league side Patriots have signed Tanzanian Henry Mwinuka as the club’s new head coach on a one-year contract, replacing Cyrille Kalima, who resigned last week.
Mwinuka, who has been the club’s assistant coach since last season, confirmed the development. "Yes, I have signed a one-year deal with Patriots, I am here to Patriots a better team and help them improve on last season’s achievements,” Mwinuka added.
Mwinuka was the coach of the University of Dar es Salaam Basketball Club from 2003-2006 and Savio Basketball Club in 2007-2008.
He was also assistant coach of the Tanzania national team between 2009 and 2010 as well as head coach Kampala International University from 2011-2015, before joining Patriots as assistant coach in May this year, whom he helped to a second place finish in their debut season in the league.
