Former Burundi international midfielder Masudi signed the contract over the weekend and officially started his work as assistant to Belgian Ivan Minneart, on Monday in a match that Rayon Sports edged SC Kiyovu 2-0 in group A of the ongoing Christmas Cup.
Masudi, who retired from Rayon Sports in 2008, returns to Rwanda’s most supported club as a replacement of Sosthene Habimana, who left to take over at Azam Rwanda Premier League rivals, Sunrise FC two weeks ago.
Ex-Rayon Sports skipper, Masudi rejoins the club from Bujumbura where he was in charge of Burundi U23 national team. Masudi was among the key players that led the Blues to the 1998 CECAFA Club Championship in Zanzibar.
