The former Rayon Sports assistant coach made the pledge days after penning a one-year contract with the Rwamagana-based club until the end of the 2015-16 season.
Speaking to Times Sport, Habimana said, "Sunrise is a good club with a solid foundation, so, I am very sure we shall get better as the season progresses, however, it calls for hard work, commitment and determination by everyone involved with the club.”
The former Rwanda international defender, who won the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup in 1999 with Rwanda B, will be assisted by Thierry Nzungu, who has been, the acting coach since Jimmy Mulisa left the post to take up the role of FERWAFA assistant Technical Director in September.
"We have to use this break to sort issues and prepare well for the league,” noted Habimana, who also coached AS Muhanga and Sec Academy.
In his playing days, Habimana featured for Rayon Sports, Flash FC and KIST and has been the interim coach of Nyanza-based Rayon Sports on several occasions in the past two seasons, the most recent being following the departure of Frenchman David Donadei, a month ago.
After match day 9, Sunrise FC is in the 10th position in the 16-team table standing with 10 points, having won three games, drawn one and lost five, Last season, they finished fourth, three points behind the champions, APR FC.
