All six Rwandan junior tennis team (three boys and three girls), have again suffered early exit in the second leg (KEN 2) of the ITF/ East African Junior circuits for players aged 18 & under currently taking place in Nairobi, Kenya.

In the boys’ singles, Fabrice Tuyishime was the only Rwandan to reach second round before being knocked out by South Africa’s Montsi Siphosothando 6-4, 6-4.
Ernest Habiyambere, who reached the quarter-finals in the first leg last week, was eliminated in the first round by Angola’s Eduardo Marais 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.
Etienne Niyigena did not compete in the second leg of the three-week tournament after failing to earn enough points in the first leg.
In the mixed doubles, Habiyambere paired with Abdaal Haider from Pakistan but lost to South Africa Siphosothando, who pared with Zimbabwe’s Mehluli don Ayanda 6-2, 3-6, 10-8 in the first round.
The pair of Niyigena and Tuyishime also lost in the first round to Egypt’s pair of Karim Abdel Raouf and Sherif Maklouf 6-3, 7-5. In the girls’ singles, Rwanda’s duo of Olive Tuyisenge and Evelyne Kwizera exited the tournament in the first round while Chantal Mutuyimana went out in the second round.
Tuyisenge lost to Kenyan Stephanie Mbaya 6-0, 6-0 while Kwizera fell to Gabon’s Celestine Avomo Ella 6-1, 6-0. Mutuyimana was beaten in the second round by Mauritius’ Amelie Boy 6-0, 6-0.
In the mixed doubles, the pair of Kwizera and Mutuyimana lost to Great Britain’s Jonea Bach and Serbia’s Draginja Vukovic 6-0,6-0 while Tuyisenge, paired with Zimbabwe’s Beverly Matsiwe and lost to the pair of Sudan’s Achu Madut and Judith Muraa from Kenya 7-6, 6-3.
The semi-finals were due to be played on Saturday. The final leg (KEN 3) is scheduled to start on Tuesday at the Nairobi Tennis Club.
