Clinics lack proper patient care

Dear editor,
I would like to comment on the sluggish way in which patients are attended to, in many of the clinics and health centres around the city.

These health centres are meant to provide immediate relief and help patients who are sick.

However, in a case where a patient is very sick, nurses and doctors do not seem to differentiate between an emergency case and one that is not.

Instead of following rigid bureaucracy in these health centres, consideration for those who are about to lose their lives should be first choice.

After all this is what doctors are all about - saving lives.

I call upon responsible authorities especially in the ministry of Health, to set up routine check-ups on these places to ensure that services are up to date.

In addition, constant trainings to improve customer-patient care in health centres should be put in place.
