The 3rd edition of the Jazz Junction Party with performances from the Neptunez Band - a local urban Afro fusion outfit is on tonight at People’s Club in Kacyiru.
Featuring saxophone maestro, Herbert Rock, as its main act, the band will perform alongside local talent.
The band’s director Remmy Lubega told The New Times in an interview that the event is organized annually to give jazz lovers in the country, something to look forward to.
"The mission of this night is to nurture the jazz fraternity in this country and to give it another genre that is rich but also inspirational,” Lubega added.
He said that this time around, there were new acts and even those who are not conversant with this genre of music should come to this event because they will be catered for under the Afro pop Jazz blend.
"This time round, we are delighted to see the likes of our very own Mike Kayihura do his best of Soul and Funk Jazz. Another highlight of the day to look forward to will be PIM from Holland,” he said.
The Jazz Junction Party will begin at 7:30pm and end at 10:30pm.
The previous edition took place late September at the Urban Boutique Hotel’s Sky Lounge, and it was graced by different people from all walks of life.
