RE: "RDB shines at Uganda tourism exhibition” (The New Times, November 20).

Kudos to RDB for winning the best national tourism agency award at the second Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo which has just concluded in Kampala, Uganda!

The event, aimed at enhancing visitor arrivals to the East African Community, has surely achieved the desired results.

Likewise, the Travel Agents’ Federation of India (TAFI) 2016 meeting, which is being planned to take place in Kigali during the second half of February, 2016, will boost tourism not only for this beautiful Land of a Thousand Hills but also to the Pearl of Africa and to Magical Kenya.

As Frank Mugambage, Rwanda’s High Commissioner to Uganda, very rightly remarked: "This is an opportunity to learn from each other and continue promoting the region as a single tourist destination”.

With over 1,300 international travel and tourism delegates visiting Remarkable Rwanda for this major travel congress, we shall well see many millions smiling in the country.

In the words of Gertrude Majyambere, Executive Director at Rwanda Tours and Travel Association (RTTA), "Rwanda tour operators should go beyond exchanging business cards and engage in real business”.

This is exactly what TAFI 2016 will offer RTTA and other concerned agencies and associations in the country and beyond.
