CAF picks referee Munyemana for AFCON U-23 finals

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has picked Rwandan FIFA/CAF referee Hudu Munyemana among officials who will handle the U-23 Africa Cup of Nation finals slated for November 28-Dember 12 in Senegal.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has picked Rwandan FIFA/CAF referee Hudu Munyemana among officials who will handle the U-23 Africa Cup of Nation finals slated for November 28-Dember 12 in Senegal.

The 41-old Munyemana is among 10 referees and 13 assistant referees selected to officiate the matches that will be held in two cities namely; Dakar and M’Bour, for the tournament that will see the top three teams qualifying to represent Africa at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Munyemana has been involved in a number of high profile CAF matches this year including Al Hilal’s 4-0 win in CAF Champions League tie against Big bullets FC of Malawi in March, Uganda’s 3-0 win over Tanzania in CHAN qualification in June, Zamalek’s CAF Confederation Cup 4-1 win over Orlando Pirates in September and a 2-all draw between Madagascar and Senegal in world Cup qualifiers last Friday.

The quadrennial international age-restricted football championship organized by CAF for the under-23 national teams will feature eight countries including Algeria, Egypt, Mali, Nigeria, Senegal (hosts), South Africa, Tunisia and Zambia.
