Zoxy Musabyimane, a vendor in town says that women should not focus on bangles and necklaces only, but also consider their feet.
"Sometimes women dress to kill, with all the right accessories but forget to make their feet appear more stylish.
And anklets are the way to do that - they add elegance to the outfit. ‘There is nothing as sensual as a woman wearing an anklet.
"Women should have a variety of them so that they can change them from time to time,” says Musabyimana.
Angelique Mukamana, a student at University of Rwanda, says she feels incomplete without an anklet, especially when she is going out.
"I’m in love with anklets and I always make sure I have one on, especially when going out. When shopping for them, I make sure I choose ones that don’t stand out too much, they have to be subtle,” she says.

How to accessorise with anklets
•Opt for anklets that are loose enough; this way, they appear stylish and fashionable. Choose the correct shoes to wear with them, and make sure they don’t clash with your footwear.
•For both formal and casual occasions, go for sterling silver anklets. One can wear them with a toe ring for a sophisticated look.
•Always go for thin anklets that when pairing them with either miniskirts, leggings or three quarter jeans, they are able to be seen clearly and they highlight the feet well.
•Go for plain anklets; with this, you can attend any occasion and wear anything, that’s if you are afraid of over clashing your outfits or footwear with anklets.
•When on a picnic or at the beach, you can wear anklets on both feet. For the complete look, go for sandals or nice flat open shoes.
•Avoid anklets with chains or rings that make noise when at the work place or at church; this is because they may cause distraction when making movements.
