Glamour, great food and a consistent flow of drinks took center stage last Friday evening as Bralirwa, through its brand Heineken; hosted an invite only premiere of the highly anticipated James Bond ‘Spectre’ movie at Century Cinema.
As indicated on the invitation cards, those invited respected the dress code and were on time because by 6pm, the smartly dressed guests were walking into the Kigali City Tower (KCT) rooftop bar where the ‘Spectre’ pre-party was scheduled to take place.
‘Color of Music’ band did a good job to entertain the guests especially picking songs reflective of the event like, a rendition of Sam Smith’s ‘The Writing is on the Wall’ which features as one of the movie’s soundtracks.
As part of the partnership between the beer company and the Bond franchise, Heineken also unveiled a new bottle that features a silhouette of the famous character.
At 9pm, the invited guests were invited to the cinema where ‘Spectre’ was filmed in 3D.
The movie revolves around James Bond (Daniel Craig) who receives a cryptic message that eventually makes him travel to Mexico City and Rome, where he meets a beautiful widow (Monica Bellucci) of an infamous criminal. After infiltrating a secret meeting, Bond uncovers the existence of the sinister organization SPECTRE. The rest is hours of powerful action that will leave you on the edge of your seat.
Even when the two and half hour action film came to the end, Heineken, which is a partner with the ‘Spectre’ franchise, was not ready to let its guests without one for the road. The guests were treated to an after-party at Ozone Sports Club in the KCT basement where guests let loose on the dance floor thanks to DJ Africano who worked the music turntables like a pro.
The Heineken Brand Manager Mark Nkera told The New Times that the premier party and movie were organized to award loyal consumers.
"James Bond is sophisticated, confident, resourceful, charming and intelligent. The movie was an exciting and memorable experience, "he said.
The premiere coincided with the Open Bond’s World campaign in which four contestants each week try to show they have what it takes to navigate James Bond’s world by taking on challenges and missions. The winners who will be seven in total will compete in a grand finale and the winner will win a trip to Ibiza early next year. Four winners have so far been picked and the grand finale will be in December.
