Rwanda Patriotic Front (RPF) Youth League members in the Gasabo District have been urged to work hard instead of just expecting pecks in the form of government employment.
"This mentality of thinking that the Gasabo district will plan for your living and provide for you is out of context. What we can only do is advocacy and not more than that,” Gasabo Vice Mayor, Paul Jabo, underscored yesterday, during the closure of a two-day workshop held at Bel Air Motel, Kimironko.
Jabo further urged the youth to form cooperatives if they are to benefit more.
The workshop attracted representatives of youth cooperatives which included commercial cyclists, house girls/boys and vendors from 15 sectors of Gasabo District.
Gasabo District RPF Youth League Chairperson, Collete Gakwaya Mugwaneza, called upon the participants to fight the genocide ideology.
A call reiterated by Celestin Kajangwe, another of the workshop speakers who also the youth to embrace the culture of peace if they are to prosper.
Some of the topics covered during the two-day workshop were poverty eradication, unity and reconciliation, Rwanda’s history before and after colonial rule and establishing cooperatives.
